HP iPAQ h5550/h5555 Pocket PC ROM Update 1.10.

This SoftPaq contains the ROM Update Utility (RUU) and ROM image for the listed handheld model below. The Utility performs the following: - Replaces the current ROM image on the device with an updated version.

Fixes

  • Connectivity: Enables connectivity bubble to correctly display GPRS status when connected through a proxy. Fixes the JavaScript event handler to operate correctly. Enables Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer to use cached pages when offline, even for local servers.
  • Contacts: Removes duplicate radio telephone number from Contacts List view.
  • Inbox: Short messages are not duplicated. SMS messages with alphanumeric addresses are parsed correctly.
  • Localization: Errant character is no longer inserted by Action button on KOR.
  • Settings: Handheld properly returns to Power Off state after an alarm.

    Enhancements

  • Adds SDIO driver update for: SDIO camera. Socket scanner.
  • Reduces power consumption while in Hibernation mode.
  • Includes Bluetooth build 1.4.1.60.
  • Removes currency calculator.
  • Includes wireless LAN driver update build 3.2.4.130.
  • Connectivity: Adds ability to configure Accept header for Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer. Adds ability to connect with IEEE 802.1x to Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with PEAP fast reconnect enabled. Enables Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer to use cached pages when offline, even for local servers. Improves wireless connectivity technologies.
  • Contacts: Sorts contacts according to the Country selected in Regional Settings.
  • Inbox: Clarifies location of SMS inbox.
  • Instant Messenger: Adds IM sign in.
  • Localization: Adds ability to enter full IP address for DNS entry in Spanish. Adds ability to save contacts with Far East characters in both first and last names. Adds ability to use partial Cyrillic name to find contacts. KOR keyboard now allows for '~' character.
  • Settings: Enables CHT owner information to be shown on Power-On.
  • Shell: Improves USB reliability. Adds use of high-quality MIDI playback for alarms and meeting reminders. Improves data integrity when file system is nearly full.
